Sneak Peek- Marie Craig
Having been a darkroom photographer in my early days, I really miss seeing the magic that happens as the image slowly materializes in the chemical bath ( I very much like working in daylight, though!) I've tried various ways to replicate that feeling.
I have been intriqued by cyanotype, and having experimented a bit with it, decided to prepare paper with photosensive chemicals to take with me on my trip to Australia this summer. It took a little while to calibrate the exposure ( Even in midwinter, the sun is more intense there).
It was such fun to experiment with a new technique, to take home unique images of the leaves and flowers of each place, location, and time of day (couldn't get the actual items through customs).
I'm not finished yet! My plan is to work into these with pen and ink, to add some texture and complexity to the images, and I've got a few more ideas as well......
Looking forward to sharing the finished project with shareholders at the Harvest Party in November!

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE SIX CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS
by clicking on the tabs above. CSArtists will post here regularly about their progress, and about their other projects and shows.
What is a CSArt?
locally produced and supported art!
CSA for art is an
idea that started in Minnesota a few years ago, and has spread to over 40
cities across the country. Fountain Street Fine Art, a new art gallery in Framingham, MA, is trying it this year for the first time. Using the farm CSA
model, CSArt gives artists the 'seed money' in the spring that they need to create a
body of work that then gets distributed to shareholders in the fall.
How CSArt@FSFA works:
•Shares cost $360- ONLY 30 shares will be sold in 2012, to keep the quality of work high.
•Shareholders will receive six works
of art, each by a different artist, at the ”Art Harvest" the fall of 2012 A
fantastic value!
•Each work of art will be a signed
original piece, not
commercial, mass-produced articles. That’s what makes it special!
Be
creative with your art share- split it with friends or keep it all. Join with
us to support the growth of local art by participating in this exciting art
collecting adventure!
